CAN PROBIOTICS HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT AND BELLY FAT?

Recent studies on probiotics and weight loss in people overweight found a high potential that probiotics can help you lose weight and lower your body fat percentage.

These studies have discovered that certain strains of a particular probiotic family can help people lose weight and belly fat.

One clinical study of 125 overweight subjects studied the effects of Lactobacillus supplements on weight loss and weight management. Women taking Lactobacillus lost 50% more weight over 3 months, compared with those taking a placebo. They found that the subjects also continued to lose weight during the weight maintenance phase of the clinical study.

In another study, 114 obese adults were given Lactobacillus vs. placebo for 12 weeks. The subjects who took the probiotic experienced a significant decrease in both body fat mass and waist circumference.

Research increasingly works to understand the mechanisms of probiotics in the body.
